The Rose of Sharon is native to the Sharon Plain in central Israel. During the reign of Solomon is was described as a wold and fertible plain with a plethora of wild flowers. It was a place of beauty and majestey. Mentioned twice in some versions of the Old Testament Bible, the Rose of Sharon is most widely know for being in the Song of Songs (Solomon), verse 2:1, "I am the Rose of Sharon..." and in Isaiah, "The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose." The Rose of Sharon has been interpreted as a symbol of Jesus Christ or Yeshua to those who follow the Judaic path.
