Beautiful teardrop shaped sterling silver set containing a pendant and pair of earrings in the design of the Olive Tree. The tree is formed of silver and throughout are small synthetic opals represnting the olives of the tree. It is a very pretty and interesting piece. The earrings have an open hook.
The olive tree can live for hundreds of years. Across Israel one see the gnarled trunks of ancient olive trees. The olive tree is the first tree mentioned in the Bible after the Flood in Genesis, "When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf!" It is one of the Seven Species of Israel and is considered the king of trees, parable of Jotham (Judges 9. 8-10).
