Established in the 1st century C.E., Tiberias was named after the Roman Emperor Tiberius.
This video is an aerial view of the city of Tiberias located on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, the Lower Galilee, Israel. It features sweeping view of the city and the cliffs overlooking the city. Tiberias was founded in the year 20 C.E. and has been continuously inhabited since. The current population is nearly 40,000. It is a popular tourist stop for Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land.
