The Jesus Boat is an ancient vessel that once sailed on the Sea of Galilee. It was discovered near Kibbutz Ginosar buried in the mud. The ancient boat was removed from the mud in a marathon excavation which took 12 days and nights. The boat was carefully conserved and now is on display on Kibbutz Ginosar in the Yigal Alon Center. Through various scientific methods, the boat was positively dated to the first century C.E. Additionally, this vessel is the same design as the boat on which Jesus sailed as described in the New Testament. The Jesus Boat is a must-see for many pilgrims to the Holy Land.
