Take flight over the hilltop where the Hellenistic city of Sussita (Hippos) was built. Sussita is located in the Golan Heights and towers over that Sea of Galilee. When viewed from above, this peak and its connecting ridge look like a horse head and neck. The Aramaic word for horse is sussita; the Greek word is hippos, thus the city’s two names.
