Kosher Yahrzeit (Memorial) Candle
Yahrzeit is a commemoration of the death of a Jew by a mourner. Each year on the date of the death (ususally by the Jewish calendar) a memorial candle is lit in remebrance.
The Yahrzeit candle is a special memorial candle that burns for 26 hours. The Yahzeit candle should be lit before dark (sundown) on the evening before the anniversary of the death and burn for a full 24 hours, most will burn longer such as this candle burns for 26 hours.
Can also be lit on Yom Kippur, Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Day) and Yom HaZikaron (Memorial day),
