Demographics

The population of the State of Israel is 7.8 million. 75.4% are Jewish residents and 20.4% are Arabs and 4.3% are classified as "other".  

Among the Jewish population, 70.3% are "Sabras", or native born Israelis and the rest are "Olim" or immigrants.

The population growth rate for 2010 was 1.9%.  

The Israeli population is considered young with the percent of residents between the ages of 10-14 at 28%.  

In Israel, there are 979 males for every 1,000 females.

The average woman in Israel has 3.03 children.

95.4% of the population is literate.
