Eilat: Where the Sun Always Shines in the Holy Land

Eilat is the southernmost city in modern Israel, and an important junction between the country and its neighbors, bordering with both Egypt and Jordan. Eilat is also the only Israeli city which offers access to the beaches of the Red Sea, which is often associated with the Biblical crossing of the Red Sea as described in the Book of Exodus.

These beaches are among the most beautiful in the Holy Land, and they draw thousands of tourists every year. The Red Sea is one of the world's top spots for scuba diving, with the diving resorts of Eilat considered to be the best  - the stable political climate, modern facilities and top-quality service place it above the beyond the standards provided by any other country in the area.

The beaches of Eilat are also a popular spot for swimming, sailing, or just having in the sun – the city enjoys a nice, warm and sunny weather almost all throughout the year. This has made Eilat the top vacation city of Israel, offering the country's best hotels, restaurants and clubs for its visitors.

But other than the many opportunities the city offers for rest, relaxation and entertainment, it also features many places where one can learn about the Holy Land's ancient history. In fact, one of the city's most popular attractions is King's City – a Biblical theme park which takes its visitors on a journey to Biblical times from the days of ancient Egypt to the reign of King Solomon. It's a great experience for children and adults alike.

Outside Eilat is another historical attraction – Park Timna, an ancient copper mining site that now serves as a tourist attraction where you can witness many geological wonders, learn about the roles of copper in the ancient world, participate in many fun activities and enjoy a traditional hosting. The Advat National Park is another highly recommended ancient site, selected by UNESCO as a world heritage site, where the remains of many impressive historical structures can be seen. Outside Eilat are also natural reserves for birds and mammals, and the city also keeps a beautiful botanical garden.

If you are visiting the Holy Land, your vacation isn't complete without a visit to Eilat!
